Schools Work

We are currently very involved in our local school - Falmouth School. We aim to provide a service to them in order to support them and the young people of our town.

Chaplaincy

We are involved with a Churches Together in Falmouth project in the school in which the Churches Together in Falmouth are providing a Chaplaincy service to the local school. There are currently four chaplains (hopefully becoming five in the near future) who are available to the pupils, staff and parents of the school as an independent support network. Two of these are part of Blaze.

The chaplains are available at lunch times and other times, and are involved with the whole life of the school.

Rock School

This runs in liaison with the school Music faculty. Twice a week (one lunch time and once after school) we run a "Rock School" for budding rock bands within the school. During these times we coach the youngsters in their playing and performance skills. We also try to get some "gigging" opportunities for them.

Vocal Workshop

This runs at the same time as the Rock School and in liaison with the school Music faculty. It is particularly for those who wish to perform as a solo singer. We use backing track CDs with some of the latest songs and help the youngsters to develop their vocal skills and performance skills.

DJ Club

This very popular group runs twice a week (we may need to increase this!) and in liaison with the school Music faculty. Young budding DJs learn the basic skills of a DJ and develop their own style and sets.

Dance Club

This group runs in liaison with Activas and the school Art and Drama faculty. The group choreographs and practices various contemporary dance routines.

Assemblies

The team are willing and available to do assemblies for all year groups within the school, and in particular help to run the 6th form Assemblies once a month.

Other Ministries

The team are able to offer other services to the school, including RE lessons, mentoring, help on school trips, help with productions (including audio/visual engineering) and so on.
