Forgiveness is one of the most difficult, and powerful of Christian values. Over on SAVN.TV they have posted an extremely powerful documentary on forgiveness from Rwanda. Narrated by Mia Farrow and produced by Steve McEveety (Braveheart, Passion of the Christ) this documentary film asks the question, “Could you forgive a person who murdered your family?” – “Struggling to live again as neighbors, these survivors and killers discover the power and the pain of radical reconcilliation”. Check it out here

After todays anti-human trafficking prayer focus, we have put up some resources and links to help in the fight against it. Please see the tab at the top of our website which links straight to that page.

I recently came across this experimental website, which looks extremely interesting. It is still under construction (aren't we all!) and the future items look very intriguing, but even now the content they have already put up is very good. The idea is a very good one - they are wanting to produce a new kind of "Mission Station" for the online community. Why not check them out at http://www.savn.tv

Sunday 4th September is a day to celebrate our unity in Christ and all that he is doing by his Spirit amongst us. Why not join us for a BBQ in the hall at 12:30pm, fun and games at 2:30pm and a joint worship celebration at 4:40pm
God is good! Lets encourage one another.

Its always a wonderful day when we recognise new members and today is no exception. In our morning worship we will be recognising Steve Callister, Sarah Lanc, Elsie and Edward Sinkins and Margaret Williams as adherents of The Salvation Army in Falmouth. Today we are officially and publicly recognising their membership of the family of God and of the family of our church. Praise God for all his wonderful blessings!

I am really looking forward to worship today - especially the morning meeting. Our Junior Soldiers will be leading the whole meeting and I have seen the plans... Its really good. So often we treat children like “one day” sort of people. One day they’ll be old enough to do this or that. “One day, when you’re old enough....” we often say to them. Its almost as if we need to set them the right example and one day they will grow up and be fully equipped to serve. But Jesus saw children differently. “I tell you the truth, you must change and become like little children. Otherwise, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:6) Of course we need to set children an example, teach them, train them, equip them. But let us not forget to learn from them, follow their example and recognise them as fully-fledged members of the church of today!

This Sunday is the next Open House Lunch at the hall, from 12:30 - 2:30pm. On the menu is lasagna and Liesl Baldwin's 7-layer salad! Please let us know if you are coming (there will be a small charge to cover our costs) and also if you are a vegetarian. Anyone is welcome, so bring a friend.

We are looking forward to a good "Celebration Sunday" where we will celebrate together all that God is doing in the various parts of our corps family. But we are also trying something new this time. We will be joining with "The Big Lunch" community event at Kimberly Park. As we do this we would encourage everyone in the corps to bring a packed lunch and take part. Although the lunch itself is the main event for "the Big Lunch" we will be running some fun and games for the rest of the afternoon. We will of course be welcoming anyone in the park who wants to join in with us, but please do stay and take part yourselves.

Some words from Gemma:
"Can you hear him? Here we go guys less than 24 hours now ...
dont forget we are children of God; God is spiritually our Father.
Romans 8:14,15 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
Galatians 3:26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus
John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
And this Father likes to chat with His children so come and catch up!"
